ASISTA (https://asistahelp.org) is looking for a new Executive Director following the retirement of its co-founder and Executive Director, Gail Pendleton, in the fall of 2020. ASISTA’s mission is to advance the dignity, rights, and liberty of immigrant survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The Executive Director will report to ASISTA’s 7-member Board of Directors. ASISTA has an annual budget of approximately $650,000 and a talented staff of six, including four attorneys. Candidates do not need to be attorneys.
We are looking for our next bold and dedicated leader and advocate who will champion our efforts on behalf of immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in gender-based violence, gender justice, immigrant rights or related fields including at least 7 years in a senior leadership role. Our preferred candidate has extensive fundraising experience, including a track record of raising significant funds from foundations, the government, and individual donors. This candidate must also have significant financial management expertise, experience leading strategic and programmatic planning efforts, and experience hiring and managing a diverse staff. Candidates should have substantial experience in coalition building and the ability to travel 25% of the time in order to represent ASISTA.
ASISTA operates in a remote office environment. The new Executive Director’s location is flexible though it is preferable if they live on the East Coast. The salary range for this role, depending on experience and location, is between $115,000-$130,000. ASISTA provides a generous benefits package.
