Join ASISTA for a deep-dive discussion of the U Visa definition of victim. Congress created the U nonimmigrant visa to protect victims of serious crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse due to the crime and are willing to help law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the criminal activity. But how has USCIS defined “victim” in policy and practice? In this webinar we will discuss the various issues and considerations when determining whether a survivor qualifies as a U Visa victim, including indirect and bystander victims. Speakers: Amy Cheung & Laura Flores Bachman, Senior Legal Counsels, ASISTA
