From I929 can be used to start the lawful permanent resident process for family members of principal U nonimmigrants, if the family member never held U status themselves. It is a fairly simple form, and leads to a generous standard for the permanent residency application, but success with it requires an understanding of particular nuances and the highly discretionary considerations adjudicators will employ.  In this webinar, ASISTA will describe the components of a successful I-929 petition. We will also compare and contrast the process with the alternative procedure for family members: the derivative U status process that uses Form I-918A.

Speakers:

Note: Approved for 1.5 TX MCLE credit hours.
