Specialized Webinar: February 8, 2023:New DHS Labor Protections & Immigrant SurvivorsThursday, February 8th, 2023, from 2:00-3:15 pm ET(1-2:15pm CT/12-1:15pm MT/11am-12:15pm PT)REGISTER NOWDescription: On January 13, 2023, the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) released guidance creating a new process for noncitizen workers to obtain protection from deportation and work authorization if they are involved in a labor dispute. Noncitizen survivors of gender based violence navigate multiple and complex barriers to safety and immigration status, including workplace violence, exploitation, and discrimination. During this session, attendees will learn the contours of these new labor protections, the process for requesting them, and their intersections with survivor-based immigration relief, including how noncitizen survivors can make use of these protections while, or in parallel to, requesting survivor-based immigration status. Intended Audience: Those who serve immigrant survivors in a professional capacity, including attorney and non-attorney advocates. Registration is subject to approval. Speakers:
